ODAŞ CA, ODAŞ’s first international investment, has established its presence in Uzbekistan through a perspective shaped by the integration of Turkish engineering and operational capabilities with sector knowledge.
Stating that the value of energy investments is measured not only by the amount of electricity generated but also by the balance they provide in the geography where they operate, ODAŞ CA General Manager Zehra Zeynep Dereli emphasized that in regions with a high pace of industrialization, the priority is to build an infrastructure that ensures uninterrupted energy supply while enabling transformation. Dereli noted that while responding to Uzbekistan’s rapidly growing energy demand, the company is positioned with a production model that simultaneously prioritizes system continuity and efficiency.
Pointing out that the facility, which is directly connected to the country’s national electricity transmission network, meets the electricity needs of approximately 500,000 households and thus makes a tangible contribution to Uzbekistan’s energy supply security, Zehra Zeynep Dereli stated: “This production structure is complemented by digital monitoring infrastructures, a management model that supports operational continuity, and a qualified workforce, all within a long-term value creation perspective.”
“The greenhouse project lays the foundations for an efficient model”
Emphasizing that ODAŞ CA places sustainability at the center of its operations and takes innovative steps in line with the principles of the circular economy, Dereli said: “In this context, the greenhouse project planned to utilize the waste heat generated during the production process at the power plant lays the foundations for an efficient model that brings energy and agriculture together. Designed with Turkish engineering expertise, this initiative, once implemented, will reduce the carbon footprint while adding new value to local development.”
“A realistic transition process”
Stating that ODAŞ CA approaches the energy transition not through abrupt disruptions but as a manageable and realistic transition process supported by Turkish operational competencies, Zehra Zeynep Dereli said: “In line with Uzbekistan’s targets to reach 15 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and to increase the share of clean energy sources in electricity generation to over 40 percent, the planned 50 MW solar energy investment to be integrated into the power plant is considered one of the most strategic steps of this transformation.”

ODAŞ CA General Manager Zehra Zeynep Dereli stated that ODAŞ CA, which currently operates with an installed capacity of 174 MW, is positioned not merely as an energy-producing facility but as a pioneering representative in Uzbekistan of an approach that addresses supply security, efficiency, and sustainability together.
