Operating since 2010 in the fields of energy and mining, Odaş engages in electricity generation, natural gas sales, mine production and sales in the areas where its existing investments are located. Having started its journey in 2010 with energy production, the company is today one of the pioneers of the sector with 15 companies and more than a thousand employees. In the field of electricity generation, it contributes significantly to energy supply with Çan 2 Thermal Power Plant, one of Turkey's largest thermal power plants based on domestic coal, and a natural gas combined cycle power plant with an installed capacity of 174 MW in the Kharezm Region of Uzbekistan. Stating that they have a dynamic, agile and entrepreneurial working approach, İnci Arıkan, Director of People and Culture at Odaş, said: "This dynamism differentiates us from the conventional working and management approach; it directly affects the way we do business and everyone under the roof of our group. An example of this is the establishment of our thermal power plant in Çan, Çanakkale. The power plant was dismantled from Austria and put back into operation in Turkey, and one of the largest relocation projects in European history was realized." A good leader must first and foremost be equal, transparent and accountable. He/she should develop himself/herself as a good mentor over time and be able to transfer his/her knowledge to his/her team and coach them on how to achieve the targeted results. In addition, he/she should have developed problem-solving skills and a dynamic, innovative, flexible and creative character."
